May In Full Bloom
A NOTE FROM SHARI
May was nothing short of spectacular — and a little chaotic — from joyous celebrations to a fresh vision unfolding in business. But the true showstopper was the wedding of Zach and Maddie. What an absolute joy and honor it was to be part of such a beautiful ceremony, and to soak in every moment with our family --from the rehearsal dinner to the welcome party and the big day itself. It was alot! Thankfully, I had carved out some intentional time off — I honestly don’t know how I could have focused on work amidst all the activity. To top it all off, my sister and brother-in-law were in town for the festivities, and we celebrated something extra special: their decision to spend more time here in Florida! I can’t even express how thrilled I was to hear this news. While I’ve been on a bit of a pause with my DevaCurl consultancy, I’ve had space to reflect on how I want to continue giving back to the beauty community I love so much. And let me tell you — some incredible ideas are bubbling in the oven! I can’t wait to share what’s coming next.
Here’s a little sneak peek:
I’ll be offering insights from over 35 years in the industry — as a business partner, colorist, texture specialist, salon director, educator, and team leader of some of the most brilliant salon professionals in the industry. I’ve seen the wins, the struggles, and everything in between — and it would feel like a disservice not to pass on what I’ve learned to all of you out there navigating the wild ride of solopreneurship and salon ownership, which brings us to today’s featured article — how to engage with our dream clients using social media before they even walk through the door. This is a topic close to my heart!

THE SOCIAL CONNECTION

BEFORE THEY SIT IN YOUR CHAIR!
Winning Clients on Social Before They Sit in Your Chair
Sometimes all it takes is a spark- a fresh idea and a smart suggestion to reignite your momentum and set you up for success.
These 5 simple tips will boost your online visibility and attraxt more salon bookings with ease:
✅ Pre-Made Content: Create photo ideas and begin to store them in your phone in a separate folder. Also, write down your ideas in your built in notes app. There are so many other apps that can help you organize visuals and ideas with templates that eliminate the guesswork.
✅ Set Clear Posting Goals: Aim for 3–4 posts per week — client selfies, transformations, service tips, and even personal interests. People want to know more about you and what makes you tick.
✅ Incentivize It: Celebrate wins! Create contests or reward bookings driven from social.
✅ Create a Monthly Content Day: Commit to a day of intentional content creation. Bring the tools. Make it fun. ex: before, during & after service photos, client video testmonials, a day in the life at the salon and what it takes to bring the magic to each and every client, all day, every day.
✅ Connect the Dots: More posts =more clients = more income. It’s important to remember that posting on social media is career fuel, not a chore.
While I’m certain that you continue to invest your craft with ongoing education…
you might now consider investing in your VISIBILITY.
Why? Because in 2025, the salons growing the fastest are the ones showing up online first.
WHAT IS YOUR BRAND IDENTITY?
TUNING IN
Fashion, for me, has always been an extension of beauty. It’s about your personal brand DNA, especially as an industry professional. It is also another way to invest in visibility. The way we wear our hair, how we dress, how we carry ourselves — it all communicates something. Every so often, I find myself standing in my closet, feeling the urge to refresh and reset. Lately, I’ve realized that this isn’t just about cleaning out clothes — it’s a reflection of something deeper. Image is a powerful tool, and when aligned with who you truly are, it can amplify your confidence, your presence, and your brand. As we grow, evolve, and “tune in” more closely to how we feel in our body — and what feels true to us — our style starts to shift. And by the way-- your clients? They’re watching! They’re inspired by how you show up. This is more than just clothes and hair — it’s about embodiment, identity, and magnetism. So here’s your gentle reminder to pay attention to those nudges. Give yourself permission to refresh your look so it aligns with who you are right now. Remember, it’s your energy, speaking before you ever say a word.
This is a big part of the work I do in my coaching.
Together, we take a step-by-step journey to uncover where you’re currently at with your fashion and identity, define where you want to be, and map out how to evolve to match that next-level version of you. If this message resonates with you — if you’re feeling that internal nudge to realign or reinvent how you’re showing up — I want you to know you don’t have to do it alone. I’d be honored to support your transformation. Let’s create a look (and feel) that reflects exactly where you and your brand are headed.
And, if you wish to take it a step further, my free webinar covers all 4 pillars that are essential to salon success. Here are a few words from clients who’ve taken my course. Real feedback. real results.
